Star Wars Themed Party

It happened. We blinked and she was all of a sudden five years old. Sweet Pea is no longer a toddler. She's done with Pre-K and is officially in Kindergarten. It's hard to believe that these past 4 years have flown by that fast. It seems like yesterday we were cleaning up from her Mermaid Themed Party. But alas, that was over a year ago. She has grown to continue to love mermaids but also loves her Star Wars. She is King Pea's daughter FOR SURE. She loves BB-8 and got to meet Chewbacca a few months ago at Disneyland.

Sweet Pea knew she wanted a Star Wars themed party because it was a tradition her sister started. When Sugar Pea turned 5, you may remember her party that was Star Wars Themed as well. It's something that makes King Pea super proud: Daughter's who love the same things he grew up with.

All of the photography was done by none other than Aish; Photography who recently went with us to Disneyland! The amazing staff with Solomon's Porch helped bring my vision to life too!

Here's her invitation made by us: More Peas, Please. The back was a new design for us. It was totally worth the literal blood, sweat, and tears. Plus the boys that were invited totally LOVED it.

King Pea is quite the artist. He drew these banners we had hanging up. Our kitchy style of decorating led to us showing off our collection of Star Wars memorabilia. Each table had something from our home: kid toys, King Pea's books, his toys, my brother's toys, our christmas tree topper (Yoda), etc. Here's the menus and signs we made. The signing of the blessing tags were in the shape of Millennium Falcons. The clip art can be found on Etsy at ClipArtopia

Here's a peek at the food. My awesome neighbor made these cookies for us because she's just great like that! The middle of our main table had helmets on it with the lightsaber we got Sugar Pea when she was 2. We used NV Cupcakes to make these awesome cake pops. Chewbacca was chocolate and the droids were all vanilla. They were super adorable and TASTY! The cake was what Sweet Pea blew her candles out with. She never ate it, but I sure did!

We brought back Ray with Blue Collar Balloons to make the kids their very own lightsaber. I called ahead of time and asked him to make the handles. He went a step further and added little lights in them. This saved time (the line was LONG - there were 100 people at this party) so that each child could pick their own blade color. Sugar Pea dressed as Leia while Sweet was {of course} BB-8. The gift bag personalization totally gets me every time. The same cookie maker, decorates bags like this. We also played a game: stick the bun on Leia. We had some winners and it was super cute!

Of course we had a huge family photo at the end. This little blaster balloon was a perfect edition.

The painting in the background is what King Pea worked so hard to do and the girls are showing how they stood as models for him. We printed it through Nations Photo Lab and it turned out GREAT!

Elephant Themed Baby Shower

As many of you know, I take pride in throwing parties for family and friends. My most treasured "oooos" and "ahhhhs" come from those closest to me because they know I pay attention to the littlest details. When my SIL announced she was pregnant, it was finally time I got to throw her a shower. I missed the first two because I was pregnant myself and then we were making the biggest move {to date} with the second. It was my turn! Finally!! The cherry on top: she was finally getting her girl.

Her biggest love is elephants. We knew that was the theme immediately. Here's the invite I designed with a perfectly shimmer pink and super sparkly ear along with words in the color scheme.

I wasn't alone with this shower. The grandmas to my niece and her mommy's very own Chick Pea were awesome helpers. They saw where I was going with my vision and helped achieve it. The work they put into it was priceless and I cannot thank them enough. My niece is in awesome hands until I am able to get my own hands on her! HA! The team at Asher & Company let me use their decorations and table cloths since I was driving 3 hours away to do this event. My MIL has a huge connection with her church, First Baptist Moore (in Oklahoma) so we got a HUGE space to use instead of a stuffy restaurant. Mommy loves Mexican food so we ran with it making some healthy alternatives!

Here you will see the Menu I designed along with a game and blessing tag I made to complete a scrapbook that my grandma made for her. Each table had the color scheme with a sonogram photo of baby girl pea.

These ADORABLE cake pops were designed and made by my girls at NV Cupcakes here. I transported these ALL the way to Oklahoma. They made it and were completely delicious (as always). They were the star of the table!

My SIL got some AWESOME gifts! The biggest ones are always the clothes with baby girl pea is NEVER going to run out of! The banner behind her was also made by me.

Here we are! I had an awesome time celebrating the arrival of my newest niece. Her mum looks just like the one you saw on Chick's Tea Themed Baby Shower. Except for the middle, I used an elephant. The overuse of elephants was intentional because to my SIL there is no such thing. The pinks and grays were a favorite color scheme of mine. Baby Girl Pea has made her debut now, and I am anxiously awaiting the day I get to meet her.

Tea Theme Baby Shower

As Momma Pea of the family, it's my job to put together some awesome celebrations. Not just for us, but also for our Chick Peas that have something fun to celebrate! This Chick is super special to our family. We cannot have asked for a better friend and we are blessed to have her in our lives. Also because she has a super cute Chick Pea that keep Sugar Pea and Sweet Pea company.

It's amazing what gets accomplished when you don't have "too many cooks in the kitchen". Chick's mom was amazing. She did all of the food prep and even let us use her beautiful home to throw this special Tea Themed Baby shower for Chick and her new little addition.

Our Photography was done by the lovely Jessica at Aish; Photography!

We'll start with the invite I designed. This was new for me because I usually do shapes with wording on the back. This time, however, I decided to do something resembling the floral we were incorporating in the shower.

This is the Banner I designed for her. I haven't done a name banner in quite some time for a party I have thrown. It took me a while to get all of the symbols down because I wasn't going off of a theme really.

I saw somewhere that mom's were wearing "mums" and of course I'm not a fan of the buttons you get at Party City, so I had to design my own. The big sister had a matching small one as well!

Here are all of the menus and other signs along with the diaper cake I did. You guys - Diaper Cakes are EASY like this. It's NOT hard. We always do blessing tags (those were in the shape of tea cups this time). Another thing we did was take donations for meals. Instead of setting up a meal train (because baby was due on Christmas), we took donations to meal prep from Wild Tree. You pay for a box of seasonings with the grocery shopping list and prep instructions. When the box comes, you can divide up the meals from 10 to 20 (if there's less than 4 people eating) and it is awesome!

The top of this photo has the different kinds of teas we served. They were delicious and we got them at The Chestnut Tree in Denton. Chick Pea's mom did this tower of flowers with the tea cups and plates along with making most all of the food. Isn't her house gorgeous! It was the perfect setting for a tea. The cabinet and all of the china were hers.

Desserts are always my favorite! This stand of special treats is a mix of Sweet Promise Chocolates (by Michelle); the macaroons are from The Chestnut Tree; and the chocolate cups were made with chocolate ganache in them. There were also chocolate shaped spoons (to match the theme) and some fruit bowls with whipped topping inside of a chocolate edible bowl. The chocolates that say "It's a Girl" were a big hit for the kids! The teapot shaped cake pops (also pink rounds dipped in sugar to make them a little sparkly) along with the petit fours were from NV Cupcakes. They always make me happy. The cakes were DELICIOUS!

Last, I would like to show off my beautiful friend. She is the reason I did this whole shower and I cannot imagine my life without her. She is absolutely the best. Thank you for allowing me to talk you into letting me do this for you. Love you!

Breakfast at Tiffany's Theme

King Pea deserves a medal for putting up with my party-throwing-obsessed-self. My mom turned 50 last year and since Sugar Pea's 6th birthday party, I started planning a surprise party for her. They live in another state so this was bringing back memories of when I threw the bridal shower for an old friend.

Our Queen Pea, Cassidy, did all of the photography for the event. You all know the business: Snap Pea Imaging & Design (our sister company).

YES - she was very surprised. We started with planning our trip. My sis and I drove out with Sugar Pea and Sweet Pea. We had to leave at a certain time so that we could be at the Atlanta airport to pick up King Pea and my brother for the festivities. This was the first surprise (the guys). Tears of joy. Facebook live was a hit. It was great.

The next surprise was my grandparents. They drove in the following day - more tears. More laughing.  More Facebook live love. Finally was pulling off the party. We told her we had a fancy dinner at the location of the event, The Graduate. The food and staff was fun and good. Lots of tears, laughter and reconnecting with our furthest traveler all the way from California. My mom is so loved.

The decor and planning was of course all done by More Peas, Please. This "Breakfast at Tiffany's" theme was inspired by wanting the colors and a "little black dress" look. Something that celebrated 50 years of a person who has done so much for so many other people along with being a great mom, daughter, and grandma.

The invitation was made on a shimmer Tiffany Blue paper with a black dress adorned with pearl paper to give the illusion of pearls.

The decorations were some of my favorite parts of the party. The flowers were BEAUTIFUL from Kroger of all places! More Peas, Please cut out the diamonds that went into the donuts to serve as rings. Each table had a different saying from Audrey Hepburn (made by MPP). The cupcakes were from Publix. The "K", blue boxes, photo props, and number "50" were all done by MPP as well. Then there's the good food!

All-in-all we had a blast! It was really awesome we pulled it off. This is probably the third party I have surprised her with! Here's the rest of us along with our family photo - we don't get too fancy often. I cherish the photos because of it!

It's been almost three years since this girl let me come on board with the company. I have had so much fun being a part of the Pea family. Longtime friends!

Horse & Cowgirl Themed Party

Every year, Sugar Pea has a new interest. This year was riding horses. She still loves horses SO much! Like my grandmother, she wanted to be around them all of the time. So we found "Four Fillies Farm" out in Pilot Point, Texas. This party was VERY affordable since we have decided not to do any more BIG parties until the next milestone. She had a few of her friends and then we roasted hot dogs around the campfire right before they hunted for gold. The perfect girl time!

Photography credit goes to our lovely Jessica Catalano with Aish; Photography

The best cupcakes I have had - like ever - is from my dear friend who has Kai's Cupcakes. She even did them in the shape of the horse!!

More Peas, Please did the invitations and we had some items added to party favors.

Enjoy!!

This photo wasn't staged. Sugar Pea is THAT in love with horses and you can tell that horse loved her too.

Miscellaneous Girl Parties

Every year we hope to have more time to spend on organizing things for Thanksgiving and Christmas and every year when November hits, it's CRAZY! We usually go to California at the end of November, come home, have 2 days before we go to OKC for a couple of days for a nephew birthday, come home for Hanukkah, then Christmas. When do I sleep? Usually on the rides at Disneyland. HA! Totally kidding. I actually get a decent amount of sleep now.

So we're back! This month's blog post is about some miscellaneous girl parties that More Peas, Please has contributed items to.

This banner was very special to a friend of ours. She LOVE the Little Mermaid that year so here is a banner inspired by Ariel herself. The Cooper family is dear to us. More Peas, Please helps out during times of design for price tags with their shows that they do. They are very talented with custom embroidery, vinyl and rhinestones on pretty much any medium you throw at them! You can check out Joiful Creations on Facebook

We have also made an Emoji banner and Frozen banner for her that can be found on our Facebook Page.

The next Party contribution we did was for a Doc McStuffins party. These cake toppers turned out perfectly with the strawberry flavored cupcakes. The sign "The Doc is In" Is a perfect addition for her to tell her guests that they can come in! They even had syringes filled with Strawberry Yogurt. The girls had a blast at the party.

Our favorite chick pea had a birthday every year that is super cute in theme. Her momma does it up nice. This time, she bought stuff from Etsy and I just cut and put it together. It's a LOT easier to not do it by hand!!

Another Chick Pea of ours had daughters whose birthday's were very close together and they were doing a Bat Mitzvah. The theme was kind of Kate Spade in feeling. Their moms had pretty big ideas including the 24" Balloon centerpiece. More Peas, Please got out the sewing machine and did the hanging paper garlands that attached to a giant black ribbon that attached to the balloons. We also did little hashtag cards for each table to tag their photos with on instagram. It was a cute little addition to the already beautiful space.

Miscellaneous Boy Parties

This month, we are preparing for another baby shower that will happen next month and we are super excited for it! While we prepare for that, you enjoy this month's post about the boy parties we have designed things for over the past year. These are not parties that we have a lot of involvement in, yet we designed something for them.

A Darth Vader inspired Banner for a 40th Birthday Party.

Note how Darth's eyes are the number 40. It's all about the detail. The other is a door banner for the party.

My Nephew and his super cute Octonauts Party at at the local Gymnastic gym. The cake was awesome! I love that my sis-in-law finds things that can accessorize the cake without spending a lot of money! We are all about saving money when we can!

This is the Banner I designed for him. It was super fun to do an underwater/ocean banner that was boy related and Disney!

My other nephew had a Paw Patrol birthday and This is the banner I made for him. It was definitely a challenge as I am not familiar with Paw Patrol, but it was worth it! He loves them!

Here's his cute self and his awesome cake! He REALLY enjoyed it!
