Collegiate Banners

Hey Peas!! We are in full blown Football season over here near "The Pod" {aka the office}. We are born and raised Bulldawg and Longhorn fans - so naturally Sugar Pea and Sweet Pea are fans as well. They are the most fun girls during the game. In fact, Sugar was watching the first 15 minutes of the game for UGA and the first tackle that happened she yelled "OH NO! That guy fell over!" Yes, honey, that is supposed to happen.
So, we promised a couple of newly designed banners. For copyright reasons, we cannot post these for sell. To give you an idea {for maybe little league teams, etc}, contact our shop today so that we can design something specifically for you!

Here's a University of Georgia Bulldawg "Go Dawgs" inspired banner. This is a collegiate font on the team's colors: Red & Black {with of course some silver and white}.

Here's the University of Texas Longhorns "Hook 'Em" inspired banner. This is also a collegiate font on the team's colors: Burnt Orange and White {we added black and silver as well}.

If you're looking for invitations in the team's shapes, that is something you can also contact the shop about. We will do what we can! Here's a sample of what the front of a Georgia "G" invite would look like.

If you are looking for ANY other team, you may submit a custom order to the shop, find us on Facebook, or even email us at MorePeasPlease@yahoo.com We love to create new items!

Cowboy Theme Shower

This year was hopping and happening! I was on a party high after May - Chick Pea's Shower in February, Sweet Pea's Birthday in March, Nephew's plane birthday in March, this baby shower in April and Sugar Pea's Birthday in May. The wedding in August was the beginning of a two week vacation from Michigan to Georgia, then home to Texas.

Back to this shower. Our family was very blessed to move onto a street where people are so awesome! Sweet Pea became instant friends with a little girl down the street who is just one month younger than her. So naturally, the mommy and I became friends. She then became pregnant with her their first son. I jumped on throwing a shower. She picked the theme and I went from there. I've been wanting to throw a shower/birthday party like this for so long.

Of course the cake pops were done by NV Cupcakes. They also did mini haystacks, s'mores pops, and baby brownie bites. The Hot Sauce party favors were done by Dave's Heaven Sent Hot Sauce. Photography by Sarah Tucker Photography and everything else by More Peas, Please.

Here's the table scape. I wanted some smaller versions of foods again {baby size}. So I did a brisket {brought home from Iowa} to make baby sandwiches, put salad in little cups, small cups of mac-n-cheese, little tiny cornbread muffins, fruits, and veggies. The hanging things were from Party City. The banner and menus made by More Peas, Please.

These cake pops were PERFECT! They matched the balloons so greatly as well as the theme.

Here I made the favor tags for the S'mores I sent home with the BBQ sauce made by Dave's Heaven Sent Hot Sauce. I made her some Thank You notes too. The banner was recycled from my nephew's party, but that was also made by More Peas, Please. The monogrammed gifts for Big Sister and little baby were so perfect.

Along with the Mason Jar glasses, I found some cow print straws and then cut out chalkboard contact paper for the labels. The guests also got to take these home. Contact paper for the boot as well. This is a close up of the menu. MPP made the squeeze bottle covers and the diaper cake also.

Happy Momma with her new gifts for baby boy. The majority of everything was sports themed!

This was such a sweet photo of Big Sister with mommy...snuggles for baby brother!

Minnie Themed Birthday Party

It's fun how through the years, children change their favorite things. Even day to day. Minnie Mouse seemed to be a very popular choice the year we chose to do this for Sugar Pea's party. It was our first party since we moved back to Texas. We planned the majority of this from out of town because we went to California for my Aunt's graduation just a couple of weeks prior to this. Since we were finally back near family, we knew this would be a HUGE party.

Some of the things for this party include the dress I found on Etsy at Lil' Bug Clothing, the topiaries, sign, food tents, and banners were all made by my party planner from San Diego {who did Sweet Pea's Cinderella Birthday}. Birthday Blessing tags were made by More Peas, Please. Cake and cake pops were made by NV Cupcakes. The cookies were made by my friend in California who also did the cake pops for Sweet Pea's Cinderella Party. Photography was by the wonderful Sarah Tucker Photography.

Here are the cake pops - they did an AMAZING job! These hopefully will serve as inspiration to other bakeries to do sculpted pops. The girls there tell me all of the time how much I get them out of the box. I say, mission accomplished. While I have a vision, they always exceed the expectation.

Here was the dessert table. The brownies were SO good! I made them from a recipe I found on Pinterest. The Edible Arrangements gave me a new love chocolate covered pineapple. The pretzels are covered in red chocolate and I put pearls on them to mimic the polka dots of Minnie's Dress. The banners were made by my planner in California.

Each favor bag had a personalized embroidered hat from Disneyland complete with a personalized Mickey {for boys} or Minnie {for girls} cookie. The shaped heads were for the birthday Blessings.

Here are Sweet Pea and Sugar Pea in their outfits for the party. Yes, Sugar Pea got socks and yes she was super happy about it! She is becoming the most grateful child.

And here we are! The problem with trying to get photos after their first birthday is that the adults start to throw fits too because we are MAKING them take photos! Therefore, we changed how we're doing it now that Sugar Pea can write her own name. That saves me from designing too.

Monograms & Margaritas Theme

Momma Pea has a best friend that she's known for the last 16 years {yes, Freshman year of High School}. We call bff's of MPP, Chick Peas. This particular Chick Pea is getting married this year! It's a happy day in our lives not only because she finally found her King Pea, but because Momma Pea {me}, Sugar Pea & Sweet Pea {my daughters} are all in the wedding party. Naturally, I had to throw her a Bridal Shower that she's been dreaming of.

Snap Pea Imagining & Design's {our sister company}, Queen Pea Cassidy, did all of the photography for the shower. It was probably the best reunion ever since my Pea Pod could not make it to Disneyland last year {when we normally bring Queen Pea with us}, so we had not seen her in over a year. Sad, I know. Ok, enough 'PEA' puns...let's see the goods.

The theme: Monograms and Margaritas. The invite was fairly simple in a luxe shape with the colors for the University of Georgia {Chick Pea's favorite football team...well mine too...I did grow up there} and the Monogram of the soon-to-be couple "LHD".

I first have to show you this gorgeous old battle home called "The Corry House" nestled in Union Point, Georgia. Erin was absolutely amazing at helping me with everything I needed to plan the shower from Texas. Including my first time ever hiring a caterer. Here's our group shot in front of the house.

These are the little touches I added to the shower. The frames are from Ikea - roughly $1.50 each. I put together a "Meet the Maids" table where I had each of the bridesmaids send me a few sentences about how she knows the bride and a little photo. The 5x7 frame was then a gift to each maid to say "Thank you" from Chick Pea.  The margarita glasses were a STEAL I found at "Aldi". If you don't have one, google them and find your closest one. Normally, glasses like that range from $12-25 for a box of 4. I got the last 14 boxes on their shelves for $2.89/box. Yes, you read that correctly. I don't throw parties to see how much money I can spend. If I hadn't found the actual glasses, then I would have done something else. {Prayer helps, too} Next to the Margarita glasses, are the give away prizes. We have people self-address an envelope and draw an envelope for people to win the prize. Plus, it helps the thank you notes get to the people on time! I didn't want the typical give away prizes, so I did a "Baking Bowl" {Inside the mixing bowl had a cake mix, some margarita flavored chocolate, an oven mitt, and icing}; a "Relax" basket {had soaps, salts and other things that were margarita scented.}; a movie popcorn bucket {that had popcorn, candy, and a "Wedding Planner" movie inside}; and finally there was a "Pasta Night Bowl" {where I got a colander, with pasta, sauce, and a hot pad}. These ideas, I found on Pinterest. This platter was her "guestbook" for the day. It had a monogram that Chick Pea's friend designed {that I tried recreating...paint isn't forgiving}. Everyone signed it. The Pins you see where people bake a sharpie on a $1 store mug, doesn't work. This is a specialized pen from Blick Arts called "Pebeo". I found this out from a pottery place in Vegas when I did my first plate for a friend that was having a baby. Inside the Margarita Glasses, was a personalize charm {picked out by Chick Pea and made by Misty's Mystical Jewelry}, a drink recipe from Chick printed on a specially designed paper from Etsy's Cupcake Express Shop, and tied off with red & black tulle. The other frame had Instagram information for those that had Instagram. It was for others to take photos, post on Instagram, and use the hashtag #dlhwed so Chick Pea can find her photos later!

For the Main centerpiece, Chick Pea found a special on Jane.com where there was a person selling these 18" monogram cut outs. She purchased it, I painted it, and then hung command hooks on the back upside down to hold the tulle. This polka dot paper was found at Hobby Lobby. Because it's an old battle home, I knew tape wouldn't really hold so I used command hooks and strips to put everything up. While the home is gorgeous, it's hard to throw a modern party in that setting. Command products = everyone's party friend.

The Food was AMAZING. Chick Pea's third love {behind future King and her furbabies} is Mexican food. I wanted to keep it small with "tapas" sized things. Erin's recommendation was a local caterer who does this as a side job with her mom. Lauren is awesome. They did beyond what I expected and she was amazing at communication. You can reach her through Erin! The black bean cakes and mini chicken quesadillas were my favorites. Everyone loved everything though and Chick Pea lived off of the leftovers for about a week after. Chick Pea is a flexitarian so we had to make sure there was plenty for her to eat. It's SO much easier in Mexican food. While planning this shower though, my goal is to throw another shower that does Italian tapas sized food! How to serve Margaritas in bulk without machines? Well, you make the mixes, then put out the tiny cups with the tequila in them. This helps too with if someone likes theirs a little stronger. The dessert buffet was just perfect. Bee's Knees Bakery & Gifts in Athens did the cake pops. If it weren't for them, my table would have been incomplete. Additionally on the table, I got the "LHD" dishes that had red and white Lindt truffles in them, red and chocolate twizzlers {yes CHOCOLATE}, red dipped pretzel rods, and key lime tartlets {Chick Pea's favorite}.

Here's an up close of the Margarita Glass shaped Cake pops and the rest were monogramed, plus the little dishes I found {via Pinterest} on The Wedding Outlet

Lastly, because the wedding party is so big, these are the bridesmaids who were able to attend this shower {minus one because she had to leave}. I am so proud of my bestie and cannot wait for the big day! More Peas, Please did some stuff for the wedding so hold on to see....

Hawaiian Themed Birthday Party

Sugar Pea has always loved everything hula and plumeria. She has always been in love with "Lilo & Stitch", watched intently at hula performances, and even now loves that we have our very own hula dancer at church! This was her second birthday party in Vegas. We were only missing her one Aunt. That is an awesome turn out.

I had these high visions of doing those pineapple palm trees that failed miserably the morning of the party. We did however have amazing food from L&L Hawaiian BBQ and the cake pops were made by Caked in Vegas. They got me on the cake pop band wagon because I do not like to waste cupcakes. Inevitably, you have guests {especially parents} that claim to be on a diet so they don't want a big piece of cake or a whole cupcake. The photography was by the amazing Vik Chohan Photography. He did a few other things for me - loved them all.

Here's my Sugar Pea on the day of her party! I made the grass skirt inspired tutu, found the bathing suit at Gymboree, and tossed up her hair with a plumeria flower. She had a special pink Lei with pink sparkles in it, plus her very on cupcake.

The cake pops were shaped and sculpted like crabs, turtles, flip flops, flowers and some plain water. Caked also decorated this platter for me so I didn't have to! {The cupcakes behind were gluten free for my good friend's family that came. I made those - they're simple!}

I made all of the above {paper wise}, The sand pails were decorated with each child's name and a flower for the girls with a surfboard for the boys. The "Aloha" banner was used as the basis for our group photos. The Umbrella wreath took me about 3 hours to do - but was worth it. Then I hung some lanterns over my island where we served the food.

This is my family {minus my sister}. It is the first time we've all been together in such a long time. They got to meet Sweet Pea {I'm holding} for the first time. We had such a good time celebrating Sugar Pea turning 2!

Cowboy Themed Birthday

When my baby nephew turned 1 {December 2012}, The Pea Family flew in from Las Vegas to celebrate his birthday along with Hanukkah in Texas with the family...and we threw in Sweet Pea's dedication too. It was a BUSY weekend. My nephew is 3 months older than Sweet Pea so we had quite a bit of catching up to do because my baby baby nephew was about to be born {and actually was} two weeks after Sweet Pea's Cinderella themed First birthday.

At the time, my very pregnant sister-in-law, took on a big task to make her own cupcakes for his party. I believe there were 4 dozen {three different kinds} and my brother-in-law made all of the food. It had been about 5 months since we had seen them all so of course I went a little picture crazy.

Here's the Birthday Boy!! He was wearing his boots, jeans, and plaid shirt!

Here you will see the high chair banner I made, along with the "Wild Wild One" banner, 13 month banner, favor bag cut outs and the hanging horse {in the middle of the balloons}. I also made the food tents {on the table the night before}.

Some of the table treats here: S'mores pops, S'mores flavored cupcakes & my nephew's cake - all made by my Sister-in-Law and all yummy!!

He had NO issue with his cake!! He loved it! I loved the cow print balloons - in addition to how cute my nephew is!!

Here is the Pea Family at the party. Those are tights with "boots" printed on them. Perfect for the occasion!

Airplane Themed Birthday

My nephews are so sweet. They don't really interact with us a lot...they're shy...but it's all good! That doesn't stop this Auntie from helping their mommy throw an awesome party. She had big ideas for this little pea's first birthday. My Sister-in-law found a bunch of ideas on Pinterest and I recreated the majority of them. The only thing I didn't do was the cupcake toppers.

His invites were like an airline ticket jacket with boarding passes. Each boarding pass had the individual names of each guest. It was super cute. A little tip: it is EXTREMELY expensive to print these specific invites at a place like Kinko's {through my experience, it's only about $20 cheaper to print things at Staples}. Literally for 20 invites, it was around $80 {with my 40% discount}... that didn't include time to cut, glue and postage. So basically if you do a file and are printing invites, you may want to do it yourself at home, or look at our invites for an alternative choice.

My nephew was NOT a fan of the cake. No matter how many different times mommy and daddy tried to get him to eat it. Sugar Pea was not a fan of cake for the longest either!!

Here's my Nephew! The birthday boy loves his balloons!

My Niece was a great sport. That's my husband and Brother-in-Law who built the bag screen {which was moved for the "baggage claim suit case"}. More Peas, Please {also known as myself} did the signs and all of the decor.

What you see above is the background with planes and clouds as well as a sign that says "Baggage Check". The rest of the signs with the 13 month banner were made by yours truly. The bathroom sign was a favorite of mine. Clocks with each time zone {including the home city of the birthday boy}. The favor bags were a MPP creation.

This is all the food! The cake and cupcakes were made at WalMart. The Refule station had a blue punch, plus a little something for the adults {mini alcohols} and the runway for "In-Flight Snacks" made by my Brother-in-law! The high chair banner was fun to make!

Tangled Themed Birthday

Sweet Pea had quite the second birthday celebration! If you haven't seen her Cinderella Themed first birthday, make sure you check out the blog post. We went with a Rapunzel inspired theme from "Tangled". To date, I think we are nearing on 4,579 views of the movie. So we know it by heart for sure!

To start, I do not currently have a photo of her invite. However, it did look like a lantern {from the movie} with the sun on it and a pink number "2". They were super cute. One day, they will be up on the shop! For now, let's take a look at the party's details. Photography by the wonderful Sarah Tucker Photography.

Here's Sweet Pea's outfit that I found on Etsy at Rayanna's Bowtique

We also decided for this party {because I am not a party game person - I love for my guests to build relationships and interact} that we would hire a princess actress. It was the best money I've spent. She was so awesome!! Both Sugar and Sweet Pea were so excited to see her! The last time they did see her was at Disneyland for our annual "Christmas" trip.

She did a dance time with them, had them do a Treasure Hunt around our house, and even painted their hands/faces.

Here's where Sweet Pea ran out the door and brought her into the house!

Here you will find the banners I made and hang from the ceiling {along with the crepe paper wall}. Also the Snuggly Duckling Sign {I bought the file from Etsy}. It was SUPER pricy to print and I just mounted it to foam core, had it hanging outside. The favors for this party were some Pascal bowls I found at the Disney Outlet {on clearance}, the pink thing was an artist's pallet shaped chalk I had made from Etsy's shop "Chalking on Sunshine", plus a hairbrush, a duck {snuggly duckling reference} and other little things.

The food: The cake & cake pops were made by NV Cupcakes and I seriously cried at the cake. People that don't live in a small version of a city have no idea how hard it is to find bakeries or companies that you can just run to - I know! We lived in Las Vegas where it wasn't finding a shop, but finding one I didn't pay almost $5 a cake pop! Maximus guarding his apples. I did the paintbrushes from rice krispy treats, stuck with the wooden "handle" {Hobby Lobby} and then dipped in colored chocolates. The last thing I did was a toddler table. Sometimes the parents are worried about their kids grabbing and eating things off the big table. So we set out goldfish, pretzels, turkey, cheese cubes and crackers along with applesauce packets - best thing! It was a hit!

Doc McStuffins Themed Celebration

This was one of my favorite celebrations for my little Sugar Pea. This was a Doc McStuffins inspired theme.  Photography was done by the awesome Sarah Tucker Photography {same as baby Sweet Pea's Rapunzel Themed party}. You can find most of these products on our Etsy Shop. Of course you can always check out our specials and other photo galleries on our Facebook page.

Starting with the invites. {These are general invites as to not share personal information}

Then the little party details {Signage & Banner was made by More Peas, Please. Notepads, pens, and shirt were made at Vistaprint with the logo I bought from Yellow Fields Designs.}

She's officially 4. I cannot believe it! She has learned so much in these past 4 years, grown so much, and is very polite and as sweet as Sugar.

The Doc even did check ups on her friends and their toys.

This was Sugar Pea's cake! Made by the wonderful NV Cupcakes. They constantly surprise me and I love how affordable it all is!!

They also made these Band-Aid cake"pops". They were so different and so delicious!
